Breaking down Barriers to Internet Presence
for Women Entrepreneurs in Georgia
Georgia’s Women’s Entrepreneurship Development (WED) was assessed by UN Women and the ILO.
The project will be designed from two different design directions to convey information to a lay audience through social media and creative installations.
Direction 01
Animation
The pom poms’ resistance to pressure and their agility made them an ideal metaphorical material for our animation, depicting women entrepreneurs navigating their challenges.
Direction 02
Installation
We conceived it as a mobile kinetic sculpture depicting the imbalances created by demographic factors such as region, age and marital status, and how they impact and prevent women in business.
Data & analyze
We analyzed the data and found the internet as a key entry point to showcase and shape our storytelling.
Who?
We aimed to reach UN Women audiences and the public who are concerned about the challenges Georgian women entrepreneurs face, and want to participate in discussions around it.
Why?
We are aware of the demographic implications of having an internet presence, and would like to visualise this in order to elicit emotional impact and inform decision making.
What?
We investigated the internet presence of Georgian women entrepreneurs and how their demographic context impacts their entrepreneurial journey.
Sketches & Plans
Based on the data we want to convey to the audience, we designed the corresponding data structure, narrative language and visual context for two different design directions
Test & Develop
After completing the preliminary research and preparation work, we started the development and testing according to the plan, and got good results
